Ian walked his first two steps holding Adriana's hands at our Christmas party on December 6th. I'm so glad I actually saw it happen or I wouldn't have believed them. He's only taken a couple more steps holding our hands since then but we're happy about that. We are in no rush for Ian to start walking!

El gordo caminó sus primeros dos pasos con las manos de Adriana en nuestra fiesta de navidad el 6 de diciembre. Con suerte yo estaba ahí mirándolos o no iba a creer. Después eso se camino un par de pasos mas con nosotros pero nada mas. Y con suerte! No estamos listos por un bebe móvil!

We are so blessed to have such great friends. Ian is sure to have a constant party as he grows up. Our neighborhood is full of babies his age. Christian is one day older than Ian. Camila is six months younger. We're also so glad to have so many friends who speak Spanish. Poor Camila is the only baby girl in a neighborhood full of boys. We call her Ian's girlfriend but he may have lots of competition for her heart!

Estamos tan contentos que tenemos tantos amigos aquí en nuestro barrio. Creo que Ian va a crecer con una gran fiesta todo el tiempo. Hay muchos pero muchos bebes aquí en el barrio. En nuestro calle solamente yo conozco seis aquí con menos que un año. Christian tiene un día mas que Ian y Camila seis mesas menos. Pobre Cami es la única niña de los bebes del barrio y de nuestros amigos. Nosotros siempre decimos que Camila es la novia de Ian pero creo que el gordo va a tener mucha competición por su corazón

After Six Years!!!

Time really does fly. It's been six years since I've seen my college roommate. She and her family came to Arkansas for Thanksgiving and we got to spend Wednesday and Thursday morning together. It was so great to see her after all this time and to meet her beautiful family. We took the boys to Wilson park because Melia and I used to go there all the time and even talk about going there with our kids one day. I think I had forgotten how much I miss Melia. I hope it's not another six years!

The weather should be changing soon (like tomorrow) so we took the opportunity to play at the park. Ian loves to swing!!!!

El tiempo esta para cambiar muy pronto, manana pareca que va a hacer frio. Entonces, fuimos al parque aprovechar los ulimtimas dias lindos. Ian le encanta amaca!

Empanada Party

We had a little Halloween Party, but really it was an empanada party. I made 75 tapas for empanadas and Marcelo made the filling. When everyone got there we had assembly stations. For not being Argentine, I think my empanadas went over well.

Por el Halloween teníamos una fiesta pero mas que una fiesta de Halloween era una fiesta de empanadas. Yo hice 75 tapas! Y Marce hice las rellenos. Después los amigos hicieran la asamblea del empanadas.

We had to go outside on the front porch to wait for trick-or-treaters because it was so warm that Ian would have died in the house in this bear suit.

Ian was a bear for his first Halloween.

I had to go across the street to our friends house to take his picture since she had Halloween decorations and I didn't. I hope I'm a little more festive next year.

Tenia que cruzar la calle a sacar fotos de Ian con decoraciones del fiesta de Halloween. El año que viene no voy a ser tan vaga y vamos a tener nuestra propia decoraciones.

There’s nothing overly important about these pictures, I just think they are precious, Ian in his warm weather clothes. He looks more like a little man every day. Marcelo’s been saying for a while that he needs a little hair cut. We’ll see.

No hay nada muy especial de estos fotos, solamente que pensé que son lindos, Ian en su ropa del tiempo fresco. El es más hombrecito con cada día. Marce piensa que necesita un poco de corte del pelo, yo no se si estoy de acuerdo.

Ian parece más vestidito para la Pategonia en Agosto que el otoño aquí. Marcelo y yo siempre tenemos la misma pelea, sobre cuanto ropa necesita. Marce: “Tiene que ser macho.” Yo: “Hace frió afuera, no me importa si sea macho, me importa si tiene frió.”

Actually, this night I got Ian all bundled up to go for a run and by the time we were both ready it was already dark and I just gave up, took his picture and called it a day.
