Argentina 2

After spending one night in Buenos Aires we went to Rio Gallegos to see Papi's family. Ian was so "on" when we got to the airport. We had to wait for our baggage behind a glass wall and so he and I went to look for the fam. When we found them and they all came to the glass wall Ian immediately started banging on the wall like he had known them his entire ten months and was so happy to see them again.
He really loved the attention of all the aunts and uncles and was so fascinated by his cousins.

Ian with Ramiro, Marcelo's older sister's two year old.
Ian with Bianca, Marcelo's younger sister's almost three year old.

Eating prosciutto, which would be cured ham. I have tried so hard to keep this little body healthy and I go to take a shower and when I return his daddy has given him a piece of raw ham to chew on.

See, Marcelo's soooo happy that Ian like the raw ham!

Baby Boy traveled well (more so on the way to Argentina than the way back). This was the flight to the south from Buenos Aires. It wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world to hold him all that time but it sure was sweet and I enjoyed it.

Argentina 1

Well, we've been home for about three weeks now and I'm finally getting around to adding pictures from Argentina to the blog.
Our trip was great. Ian was a big hit with Marce's family and friends.
We were able to be in Argentina for a full month so that gave Marcelo plenty of time to unwind from work and reconnect with his friends and family, who he rarely sees.

Ian and Cristian, one of Marcelo's best friends from college. They hit it off right away.
Ian getting to know Cristian.

This is our friend Cecilia and Cinthia, her youngest. They lived in Arkansas until a few months ago. They're currently living in Brazil but were home in Buenos Aires for the holiday so we got to catch up.

Jet Lag!!!

Thus started the sleeping together.....
This is the day we arrived and although we aren't co-sleepers we were in Argentina and for the first couple of weeks after we got home. Neither of us really slept well together, but oh how sweet it is to sleep with a baby. I loved it despite the sleep deprivation.
Espanol para venir....me cuesta mucho mas tiempo a escribir en castellano y el gordo no me permita el tiempo ahora, despues escribo todo en castellano.

The Falls

The weather in Tenn on December 27th was great for being outdoors so we went to visit some falls close to Erin's house. We had a great time and it seems like the hike was just what Erin needed since her water broke two days later.

Ian's First Christmas

Ian's first Christmas was great fun for everyone. We went to Tennessee to my sisters house because she was pregnant and too far along to travel. Christmas morning was just us, my parents and Erin, Chino and Elo. Eleanor and Ian were the only two opening gifts from Santa so Ian really wasn't overwhelmed and he really loved it!
La primera Navidad del gordo fue muy divertido para todos. Fuimos a Tennessee, a la casa de mi hermana Erin. Erin estaba embarazada y no podía viajar.

Our New Cousin

We have a new baby in the Burton Family. Pablo Andres Lock was born December 30th, just in time to claim him on their 2008 taxes. Erin was thrilled that she would be able to buy new furniture! He was about two weeks early (or so her doctor says, but her big sister thinks the doctor was wrong). Erin went to her regular appointment on December 29th and learned that her water had broken and she didn't know it. Her doctor sent her to the hospital with plans to do a c-section that night (she had a section with Elo) because she was only dilated to one. She was hoping to try for a v-back and the attending doctor at the hospital didn't have any problems with inducing her even though she had previously had a c-section. So that's what happened and Pablo was born around 9:15a.m. on the 30th.

He's very precious, looks just like his daddy. He sleeps all day but not so much at night. His big sister seems to be adjusting very well and really loves him.

Ian just looked somewhat confused when he saw Marcelo or me holding Pablo but I'm sure he's thrilled with his new cousin as well. Right now he's really into the older cousins and loves Elo.
