Empanada Party

We had a little Halloween Party, but really it was an empanada party. I made 75 tapas for empanadas and Marcelo made the filling. When everyone got there we had assembly stations. For not being Argentine, I think my empanadas went over well.
Por el Halloween teníamos una fiesta pero mas que una fiesta de Halloween era una fiesta de empanadas. Yo hice 75 tapas! Y Marce hice las rellenos. Después los amigos hicieran la asamblea del empanadas.

Waiting on Trick-or-Treaters

We had to go outside on the front porch to wait for trick-or-treaters because it was so warm that Ian would have died in the house in this bear suit.

El Osito Ian, Ian the Bear

Ian was a bear for his first Halloween.
Ian fue en disfraz de un osito por su primer Halloween.
I had to go across the street to our friends house to take his picture since she had Halloween decorations and I didn't. I hope I'm a little more festive next year.
Tenia que cruzar la calle a sacar fotos de Ian con decoraciones del fiesta de Halloween. El año que viene no voy a ser tan vaga y vamos a tener nuestra propia decoraciones.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my...we don't have a tiger.
Ian with our friend Leo and the town square for the little kid Halloween event.

Check out our Happy Fall Baby

There’s nothing overly important about these pictures, I just think they are precious, Ian in his warm weather clothes. He looks more like a little man every day. Marcelo’s been saying for a while that he needs a little hair cut. We’ll see.

Actually, this night I got Ian all bundled up to go for a run and by the time we were both ready it was already dark and I just gave up, took his picture and called it a day.

Fall Family Party with Pumpkin Carving Contest

Last year the Burton family started a new tradition, Fall Family Party with Pumpkin Carving Contest.
Uncle Ben (back to us) with Paxie (Friend of Erin and Chino), Papa (my dad) and Uncle Mark.
Ian and Uncle Mike

Aunt Sonya, Amos and Lindsay working on our pumpkin, Chino spying.

Strategizing

Looks like a lot of watching to me.

Pumpkin Party

Lindsay and Ian with Amos, a family friend
All the guys so intensly consentrating. Do you see the tracing sheet that Ben is using? Don't you think that consititues cheating?

Uncle Mark, Erin and Baby Boy Lock (I sure which they would pick a name so I can stop calling him "Baby Boy Lock"), he's due in January

Eleanor painting a little pumpkin with the help of Charlie, a family friend. Eleanor likes little things so she surely liked her little pumpkin.

It looks like there was a lot of emotional support from one side of this table.

More Fall Party at Abby and Papa's

Ian with my aunt Janie
Marcelo and Johnny (my dad's uncle) carving.

Abby taking pictures and keeping track of the progress of everything.

Ian's Aunt Sonya concentrating on her team's pumpkin.

Hayden was such a good sport and even helped with the worst part, cleaning out the insides.

At Abby and Papa's House

Ian's US grandparents go by the names Abby and Papa. It's a shame that they aren't close enough for me to drop Ian off so I can go to the store in peace but at least they aren't too far.

We went to Benton in the middle of October for a fall family party. All of Ian's US aunts, uncles, and cousins were there.
